Cut and styling

Keeping a shape, changing it, or simply a blow-dry. How to agree on a cut you can still wear when you dry your hair yourself.

Who it is for

For regular upkeep of the ends and the shape, for a bigger change, and for a blow-dry and styling.

A good cut is one you know what to do with when you are not in the studio.

How it works

  1. A conversation

How you wear your hair, how much time you have in the morning, whether you blow-dry it or leave it to dry. Show a photograph if you have one. We agree the length before the scissors come out.

  2. Wash

Your hair is washed and conditioned. Wet hair shows its natural fall.

  3. The cut

The shape is built up gradually and checked along the way. If you change your mind about the length, say so straight away.

  4. Drying and styling

We dry your hair the way you will wear it. Along the way we show the movements and products that get the same result at home.

Before your appointment

  • Bring a photograph. And one of a style you do not want: that helps too.
  • Tell us how much time you spend on your hair in the morning.
  • If you want a bigger change, say so on the call, so we set aside enough time.
  • Come with your hair the way you normally wear it, so we can see how it falls.

Afterwards, at home

  • Dry in the direction of the fall

Point the dryer down the hair, from root to ends. The hair lies smoother and the shape holds longer.

  • Heat protection

Before the dryer, straightener or curling iron. It protects the ends until the next cut.

  • Care on the ends

The ends are the oldest part of your hair. A little care keeps the cutting line neat.

  • Ask if it is not working

If the style does not sit at home the way it did in the studio, tell us at your next visit. A small adjustment is often enough.

How often

The interval between cuts depends on the shape. Short, precise lines such as a bob or a fringe lose their shape sooner. Long hair without layers can wait longer.

When you notice the style no longer sits the way it should, it is time to call.

Good to know

  • A photograph says more than a description.

“A bit shorter” means something different to everyone. A picture removes the misunderstanding.

  • The shape has to fit your morning.

A style that needs half an hour with the dryer is not a good choice if you have five minutes.

  • A cut alongside colour.

A cut is often arranged together with colour or lightening. Say on the call if you want both, so time is set aside for everything.
